So I was out at one of the most beautiful golf courses in North American today - Kananaskis Golf Course in the heart of the Rocky Mountains.
I have been to this event annually for the last 5 years and have always indulged in a couple beer during the round and at least a couple after the round. The dinner is buffet style with steak, corn on the cob, loaded baked potato, salads, etc ,etc. After dinner come the HUGE plates of deserts – brownies, cookies, cakes, and all sorts of sweet goodness.
If I remember last year I had my fill of dinner and desert and still took a napkin to wrap some extra treats for the ride home. So how would I respond just under two weeks into my new heath routine?
NO BEER – NO baked potato – NO corn on the cob – NO sweets at all!!
In fact I was able to stick entirely to the South Beach Diet plan by loading up on all the things I was able to eat. I still had a full plate but my choices were better than they had been in the past. I did not feel over stuffed or sick after.
I drank diet coke with a twist of lime. Not the same as a beer but at least I didn’t have to go to the washroom to undo my pants and loosen my belt a notch!! In fact I have noticed over an inch of space when I pull my pants out in the front. Must have lost extra inches walking to all those errant shots I hit today
